Mr. Kwesi Pratt Jnr., managing editor of the Insight has declared that the feels hunted by the latest twist and turn in the $125,000 bribery allegation made against him.
He re-stated his innocence in the matter, adding however that, although he is absolutely frightened that such a thing would happen in this country, he had decided to forgive Nana Fitz, the 62-year-old former chief executive of Kumasi Cornerstone Football club for spreading the bribery allegation about him.
Asked what his next course of action is, Mr. Pratt retorted that he had the premonition that there?s a lot more to come out on the matter for which reason he though it was important to wait. The Insight managing editor said he is frightened and suspected that what was a joke had been blown out of proportion to make him (Kwesi) feel jittery.
The $125,000 bribery allegation which was the talk of town somewhere in 2002 was given a fresh look when Mr. Pratt and his lifetime pal, Kweku Kakraba Baako Jnr. editor-in-chief of the Crusading Guide newspaper featured on Gabby?s airtime on TV3.
Responding to media take on the matter via PeaceFM, Mr. Kweku Baako indicated that although he doesn?t believe Mr. Pratt did such a thing, he though that it was not enough to say that Nana Fitz should be forgiven.
Mr. Baako emphasized that he doesn?t see why Kwesi Pratt is saying that he had forgiven Nana Fitz. He also failed to agree with the views of so-called media gurus that by recording Nana Fitz without his consent, Gaby Asare Otchere-Darko had acted unethically.
He Is Mad! Gabby Reacts
The editor-in-chief of Statesman, an Accra daily, Mr. Asare Otchere Darko has described the former chief executive officer of Kumasi Cornerstone Football club, Nana Fritz?s assertion that he was joking with all that he (Nana) had told him about Kwesi Pratt, the managing editor of Insight newspaper concerning depositing $125,000 in his house at midnight, as preposterous, and suggested that Fitz must have his head examined.Gabby Otchere-Darko who is also a lawyer noted that he had never encountered Nana Fritz anywhere, till the day he came to his (Asare?s) office voluntarily to offer an information about Mr. Kwesi Pratt and the $125,000 saga which he recorded for the sake of posterity, adding that, for Nana to insist now that the allegation was a joke, is absurd. ?If I am a joker, he is not my joking partner.
He is not a man I know and why would I want to be joking with him over this issue. I was in my office and he came in voluntarily to offer information which I have recorded. He was even asking me in my office that I put him and Kwesi Pratt on my show so what sort of joke was that? If that is what he considered to be a joke, then he must have his head examined.
Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko considered Nana Fitz threat to a legal recourse, should he (Otchere-Darko) play the tape publicly, as amusing. He noted that there is no justification for Nana to take such an action if he was really joking about the issue, as he proffered.
