I Have Not Committed Suicide -NPP MP

Francis Anyinatoe Bernard aka Senaky, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Ashaiman constituency in the recent general election has debunked speculations that he had hanged himself. Senaky expressed shock at the rumour that he hanged himself because he lost to the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Alfred Agbesi.

He explained that he was a businessman and would go back to his work after failing to get the people’s mandate to represent them in parliament. He noted that losing an election was not the enough to make him want to end his life. Senaky reaffirmed his continuous support for the NPP and pointed out that together with other constituency executives they were working hard to ensure that the NPP emerged victorious in the presidential run-off which is slated for December 28, this year.

Rumours started making the rounds in the constituency that Senaky hanged himself following his defeat in the recent parliamentary election, with some people even saying that the NPP parliamentary candidate had told friends that he invested so much money in his campaign and that he did not see any reason why he should continue to live with the defeat and heavy financial loss. Others also said he was hurriedly buried by relatives to avoid having a large crowd at his funeral and also to avoid mockery by opponents.

“I am glad I am alive and in fact doing fine as you can hear me loud and clear,” Senaky told Daily Guide in a telephone interview. He thanked his followers for their support and assured them that his defeat would not deter him from pursuing his agenda for the youth and people in the constituency. He appealed to party faithful to vote massively for the NPP so that its presidential candidate can continue the good works of President Kufuor in moving Ghana forward.
