I Will Re- Brand Tamale Central NPP To Win The Seat

PRESS STATEMENT

I WILL RE- BRAND TAMALE CENTRAL NPP TO WIN THE SEAT

I filed my nomination papers on the 16/03/11 to contest for the candidacy of our Party to stand as NPP Parliamentary candidate for Tamale Central constituency for Election 2012. I believe I can undertake this crucial role and help with the daunting and arduous task of putting the Party on the right footing and organisationally healthy for the challenges ahead.

Since the creation of the Tamale Central Constituency in 2004, we have woefully failed to formulate and deliver a strategy to win the seat allowing the NDC to continually defeat us in the reality of glaring and growing opportunities for our Party to win in the seat.

I am 100 % confident that our Party can win the seat in 2012.I believe it is doable. A working Party machinery, united membership, cohesive attitude and coherent strategy with clear outcomes managed and overseen by a competent and likable candidate who can work confidently outside the NPP comfort zone is what is required for the Party win the seat.

I urge the delegates to elect someone who is able to reach out to non-NPP voters, floating voters, chiefs, opinion leaders, religious leaders, the minority tribes and the younger and older generations. We must be clearer and unambiguous in explaining what our Party stands for; our mission, vision and values so that we can potently rebut the negative propaganda and falsehood peddled by the NDC about our Party which has caused some considerable damage to us and our ability to garner the votes in the Metropolis. We must be able to workout how we can engage more with those who do not trust us, those who feel we are not the right Party, those who feel insecure about us and those who have genuine concerns about our tradition Our interaction and conversation with the voters must be effective, educative, clearer, friendly and positively robust so that we can dispel any negativity being propagated about our Party. I will deliver on this.

I will provide a strong and exceptional role to ensure positive changes in the way we do things as a Party. We must work to win the hearts and minds of most of the voters in the constituency and this will ensure significant acceptability of our Party in the constituency. Winning the people on our side will surely win the most votes for us in 2012.Our strategy must therefore be geared towards getting every voter in the constituency to accept our Party and vote for us in 2012 no matter his/her background, Political affiliation, ideological believes or chieftaincy affiliation.

We can only succeed in addressing the issues confronting the Party if we tackle them head on, articulate our vision clearer and relate positively with the community. This is why we must not only choose a candidate with a credible relationship with our Party but one whose personality resonates across the social, political and generational divide and who can engage and interact meaningfully with non-NPP voters and that is why I believe I am suitable to undertake this hugely important responsibility.

I bring to the Party considerable political experience, great communication skills, credible social background and a likable personality. I have good relationship with people across the political and social spectrum in the constituency and believe I can win most of them over to vote for our Party. I will lead in delivering strategic measures to re-brand the Party and make it more attractive and sellable to floating voters, members and supporters of other Political Parties and the wider voting population in the constituency. This is the only way we can improve upon our appalling performances in 2004 and 2008 Parliamentary polls in the constituency and go on to win the seat

We must ensure all aspirants are assessed wholly to determine who stands the best chance of winning the seat or reducing the deficit. I call on the delegate to choose elect me as I have the capabilities, prowess, qualities, abilities and above all determination, zest and zeal to serve this tasking role efficiently to make the constituency Party fit for purpose.

The NDC have gained the massive support and mandate of the voters in the two Parliamentary polls conducted in the constituency since its establishment. This is an indication of the of their strength and efficacy of their strategy, propaganda and game plan and underscore the scale of the challenge for our Party in 2012.It is for this reason why we must take a step back and re-examine our plan/strategy holistically. We need a different kind of thinking in our strategy formulation and a different kind of personality to lead in the delivery and successful execution of the strategy. I present an opportunity for our Party to go into the next election with a valuable, stronger and a strategic candidate.

I shall work assiduously and consultatively to deliver a smarter, measurable, achievable, resourceful and timely Action Plan for the constituency for Election 2012.

My strategy provides a clear direction for formulating actions, organising resources and evidencing the delivery of my mission. It sets out how I will make myself more accountable both to our Party members and sympathisers, entire voting population of the Tamale Central Area, lead an organised and purposeful constituency Party and achieve a historic victory for our Party.

Thank you

Musah Superior Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate. Tamale central
