The incumbent assembly member for Oklor Kofi Electoral Area, Tema Newtown, has debunked the assertion that he promotes social vices in the area.

Some electorates in the area accused him of befriending drug addicts, a situation they indicated promoted deviant behaviours in the area where he wanted to be reelected.

Mr Sumaila Agabby, the incumbent aspirant, is fiercely being contested by Isaac Tettehson popularly known as Agbormo, also contesting for the second time.

Mr Henry Oko Oninku, Public relations Officer for Mr Agabby, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the aspirant was a leader for all residents both literates and illiterates and therefore was ready to give a helping hand to whoever needed it in the community.

He revealed that it was true that the aspirant sometimes helped in bailing people who might have found themselves at the wrong side of the law but that could not be interpreted to mean he was a promoter of social vices in the area.

Touching on his achievements as the assembly member, the PRO said Mr Agabby had contributed to the Homowo Festival by organizing thanksgiving floats that aimed at educating the youth.

He added that the incumbent had been able to modernize the local toilet facility and had contributed immensely to sanitation in Tema Manhean as a whole indicating that some of the toilet facility proceeds was used to support two students at the University of Education, Winneba.

According to him, with help of the Assembly, he was able to fence the public cemetery to ward off encroachers saying he also lobbied for the implementation of “Yiedie” project to the area from the United States of America to provide free skills training for the youth.
