In a recent interview with Serwaa Amihere on GHOne TV, Chef Smith clarified his involvement with Guinness World Records.

“I have read a lot about Guinness World Records and it’s an application process. When you apply, they will give you an application reference that would enable you to know who is the current record holder,” Chef Smith explained.

“I’ve read all that, and got to know the rules and guidelines, but I don’t have an application with Guinness World Records.”

When asked why he initiated the cook-a-thon without applying for a Guinness World Record, Chef Smith responded, “Cooking is my passion and I can equally say cooking is my calling.”

In a statement issued on Thursday, July 4, Amadia Shopping Centre revealed a three-year contract with Chef Smith to support his record-breaking endeavor.

Owned by Mrs. Nana Ama Duodu, the shopping center funded and organized the month-long cook-a-thon. However, post-record attempt, Amadia’s management reported difficulties in communicating with Chef Smith about video uploads and responses from Guinness World Records (GWR).

The statement indicated that Chef Smith failed to inform Amadia Shopping Centre about the press conference intended to announce the supposed GWR certificate, violating the contract stipulating the sponsor’s right of first refusal for any activities following the attempt. Despite numerous calls for clarification, Chef Smith’s management remained unresponsive.
