The flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Agbenu Akpaloo has expressed confidence in winning the upcoming 2024 general elections.

During an interview with GhanaWeb TV's Election Desk with Mawuli Ahorlumegah, Akpaloo shared that he received a revelation from God in 2010 through a dream, indicating that he would become the president of Ghana.

"I am certain that I will win this year's elections because God has ordained me to do so. God oversees the affairs of men and decides who should lead at a given time. He spoke to me on the 10th of March 2010, which is why I embarked on this journey," Akpaloo stated.

He also mentioned that he had the same revelation four times, giving him the confidence that he would be the 6th president of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

"In my dream, God told me on the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th of March 2010 that I would be the president of Ghana, and that is why I am on this path. Everything I saw in my dream has come to pass," he added.

When asked about the filing fee for presidential candidates in Ghana, Akpaloo suggested that the current fee of GH¢100,000 is too low and called on the Electoral Commission to increase it to GH¢2 million.

"A fee of GH¢100,000 is insignificant. Candidates who requested a decrease were not prepared. If you are not willing to raise GH¢100,000, then you are not ready to be president. Campaigning across the 16 regions of Ghana is costly. To run for president and have your name on the ballot for only GH¢100,000 is too cheap. It should be increased to GH¢2 million," Akpaloo emphasised.
