"I have enough experience to lead NDC to victory" Iddrisu

Akyem Oda (E/R), Sept. 22, GNA - Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential aspirant on Friday, said he had the necessary experience to lead the party to victory, when elected as its flag bearer.

He said he was a unifying force and would be able to connect both the old and the new members of the party towards a sound victory in the December 2008 General Elections.

Alhaji Iddrisu said this, when he interacted with NDC executives drawn from Ofoase Ayirebi, Akyem Swedru and Akyem Oda constituencies at Akyem Oda to seek their mandate towards the party' delegates congress in December this year.

He said he would work towards unity in the party, adding, "I would seek to bring into our fold some of our members, who left the party for one reason or the other". Alhaji Iddrisu appealed to other contestants of the party's Presidential race to go about their campaign in a unifying manner, devoid of mudslinging, adding that, they needed to go into the congress as a united party.

He gave the assurance that, if he were not given the nod he would still be committed to the party and would support whoever would emerge victorious.

Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, a former Upper East Regional Minister in the NDC regime, accompanied Alhaji Iddrisu on the tour.
