I have not embezzled party cash- Ade Coker

Greater Accra Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Kobina Ade Coker has rubbished media reports that he has embezzled funds meant for the just ended biometric registration.

A report published by the Publisher on Wednesday captioned: Ade Coker Blows Party Cash, asked to vomit 2.1 billion cedis, accused Mr. Coker for failing to account for an amount of 270, 000 Ghana cedis he received on behalf of his region from the Electoral Directorate of the NDC with an agreement that he would disburse the amount equally among the 27 constituencies in the Greater Accra region for the biometric registration exercise.

In an interview with *Gold News*, Mr. Ade Coker rubbished the report saying “how can I blow 2.1billion cedis. The Electoral Directorate of the NDC has not given me any money that has been misapplied”.

He added that monies received by the Electoral Directorate or the party has been used to run the party and nobody in the region has embezzled any fund.

‘’ If money is given, we in the region have to ensure that the money it is used to to move the region’’.

He also emphasized that as a regional Chairman, he is not in charge of handling money, adding that there are structures and systems that handle funds.

‘’I give instructions after deliberations have taken place”, he said.

He cautioned those who are spreading the rumors to desist from such acts since according to him“when money and resources are given out, we make sure that we use it to the upkeep of the region in a way that will benefit the region”.

Mr. Ade Coker further explained that there are records to every transaction that he has made in the name of the Greater Accra region.

“What the paper wrote is a lie, nothing has taken place”. He added.
