The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Salaga South Constituency and ranking member of the Public Accounts Committee Alhaji Abubakari Ibrahim Dey, has explicitly denied procuring and distributing coffins to selected mosques in the constituency.

According to the legislator, he was only informed by his constituency executives who went to an area to preach the ‘changing lives transforming Ghana’ message where the group requested for a coffin from them.

“I was later informed again by the executives that they had given two coffins to the said mosque after their leaders kept pestering the executives for one”, he revealed.

According to him, he was not involved in the entire process and was only informed when leaders of the mosque called to thank him for the gesture wondering why the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is trying to make minced meat out of nothing.

Alhaji Abubakari Ibrahim Dey disclosed that he performed creditably since winning the seat and sees no reason to do things purported by the opposition as exercise in mediocrity.

“I represent the people and respond to their requests and if the executives do something, they do it on my behalf “. As a Muslim community, our mosque must have coffins and if per their request my executives give them, what is the big deal”, he asked.

He advised his opponents to do politics of issues devoid of insults and fabrications calling on journalists to also make follow ups and confirm stories before publishing them.
