I knew Yaw Boateng Gyan will lose - Asiedu Nketia

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the re-elected General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says he realized the immediate past National Organizer of the party would lose from the response he had from delegates at the congress grounds.

To him, though there was no pointer to his loss before the congress day, many factors could tell how a candidate would perform before the elections.

“..I was surprised Yaw Gyan lost because nothing indicated to me he would have lost. I saw he was going to lose at the Congress Grounds. From the response he had any time he was mentioned, it was an indication of what was going to happen,” he said on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia program.

This comes after Yaw Boateng Gyan, the former national Organizer was defeated in the just ended National Delegates Congress of the NDC, which took place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The seat was one of the hotly contested in the elections and was characterized by allegations and mudslinging between the incumbent National Organizer of the party, Yaw Boateng Gyan and his challenger, Kofi Adams, who was the deputy General Secretary.

At the end of the ballot count, Yaw Boateng Gyan had lost by 1,800 votes, but the Chief scribe of the NDC says it is not surprising giving the response he had from delegates at the congress grounds.

“That was an indication of what was to happen,” Asiedu Nketia added.
