I?ll Carry The Day ? Elizabeth Ohene

The New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for the Ho West Constituency, Ms. Elizabeth Ohene, has said that although she faces an uphill task of battling the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate in the December Parliamentary election, there is no doubt that she will win. ?It will be an uphill task.

I am starting from a base of 4.8 per cent from the last elections. I admit it freely but I am prepared to take it on. I am very aware that it?s not going to be that easy but I will carry the day?, she emphasized. Ms. Ohene, who is the minister of state in charge of tertiary education, stressed that in a fight, it was always important to know the strength of your opponent so as to be able to determine your strategies, adding that she knew very well the strength of the NDC candidate but intimated that this time around, the strength of the NDC candidate in the last election would be his greatest weakness.

?His only advantage is that he has been in parliament for eight years but that can also be his disadvantage. I will give him a fair run. He will not have the chance to have that easy run he?s had in the past?, she declared. Ms. Ohene anticipates a hot campaign but believes that she will ultimately have an upper hand by virtue of her strategic placement in the scheme of government.
