I'll deliver all my campaign promises - Akufo-Addo

Essakyir (C/R), Aug. 29, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has re-affirmed his commitment to deliver all that he had promised to do when given the nod to become Ghana's next President.

The presidential candidate had made several promises some of which were free Senior High School education, creation of more districts to bring local government closer to the grassroots, establishment of industries and factories in each district to create jobs and infrastructural developments.

Nana Akufo-Addo reaffirmed the commitment to climax the week-long campaign tour of the Central Region on Thursday, where a large number of party faithful and supporters, as well as sympathizers, met and cheered his campaign team amidst singing and drumming wherever they went. He also promised to make the region an industrial hub by reviving all collapsed industries, and set up a tourism school to help boost the sector and make the industry a haven.

On economic activities, Nana Akufo-Addo said, his vision was to stop the export of raw cocoa, timber, gold and bauxite, and have them processed in the country before export.

In most of the communities he visited, supporters were undaunted, as they waited long hours at rally grounds for his arrival, and at places like Kasoa, Gomoa- Nyanyano, Awutu Bereku, Winneba and Mumford, the supporters defied down pours and waited as late as 2100hours. At Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District, the situation was not different as people thronged to hear the NPP flagbearer at Beedum, Baako, Odoben and Asikuma, waiting deep into the night, amidst cheers, singing and jubilation.

Nana Akufo-Addo ended his tour at Essakyir in the Mfantsiman East Constituency and urged the people not to forget the promises made to them. He said he would never renege on his promises but built on the solid foundation already laid by President Kufuor. 29 Aug. 08
