I’ll ‘fight’ Akufo-Addo on behalf of women - NPP Chairman declares

An executive of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given an indication that he is ever ready to face off with anyone including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the rights of women.

Wa Central NPP Constituency Chairman, Ali Karim Kamara who describes himself as warrior promised to fight with his last blood for women rights in the country warning that if the President stands on his way in this vein, he is prepared to engage in ‘fisticuffs’.

According to him, it has always been his resolve to fight injustice and what is seen as working against the rights of the ordinary including women; reiterating that he only fights for good reasons.

He has therefore served notice to DCEs, Ministers and other appointees who may want to trample on the rights of others to get ready for him.

At a victory party organized in his honor for retaining his position as Chairman of the Constituency, he promised to work hand-in-hand with the Constituency Women’s Organizer, Hajia Laila Issahaqu, who was not part of his team in the run-up to the constituency contest.

This he observed, will ensure that the women groups within the constituency benefit from the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) support.

He noted that fairness among women would be his topmost priority in the next four years, adding that women are the backbone of every family.

The chairman further called on constituents to support him in the fight for justice, fairness and development.

Taking a cue from the victory speech of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Chairman Kamara said his victory was for the whole constituency.

While commending the hard work of his campaign team, he also seized the opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to the polling station executives and the electoral area coordinators for voting massively for him.

Chairman “Dan-maikudee”, as some choose to call him, assured the party of his readiness to work with everyone even those who contested or campaigned against him.

On his part, the constituency Secretary-elect, Osman Abdul-Hamid opined that the party’s grassroots knew and connected well with Kamara’s team and that they would also work with them to communicate their challenges to the party.

He also thanked all the delegates and all who supported them. He further urged all to see the victory of anybody in the elections as a victory for the New Patriotic Party.
