THE FOUNDER and leader of God’s Way International Church has revealed he is a quick tempered person capable of doing the unthinkable when pushed to the wall.
During an interview on the Delay Show aired by TV3 last Saturday, Bishop Daniel Obinim told host Deloris Frimpong Manso that his behavior when angry could be worrisome at times but he is proud of his character.
Generally, ministers of God are by biblical teachings meant to exhibit temperance in their dealings with others.
Bishop Obinim is currently standing trial after he allegedly led a team of his pastors to destroy equipment at the studios of Hot Fm, an Accra based radio station for reporting his romantic relationship with one of his junior pastor’s wives.
“You know I’m a quick tempered person who does not hide his feelings about certain issues and therefore would react strongly but I’m not disappointed about that character because that has kept me going till now,” he said.
He added that if God decided to change his character today, he would go down on his knees and beg him not to because he is comfortable with it.
He said he was least perturbed about the negative media reports about him, adding that in this world one’s name will either be mentioned for a good reason or a bad one.
The public is not my judge, God is, he said. “The public has the audacity to speculate anything about me whether true or false but I’m not worried because the Saviour himself was chastised but at the end of the day he triumphed over his enemies.”
Bishop Obinim noted he was not surprised that he was faced with the challenge of an extra marital affair adding that at certain point in his ministry his church members thought that he was Jesus.
“Let me tell you for a fact that at a certain point in my ministry, my church members thought that I was Jesus Christ due to the wonders I was doing in the church and in their lives,” the young Bishop noted.
“I quite remember that sometimes, my church members would come and touch my skin to confirm their suspicions about whether I was a man with flesh or Jesus reincarnate.”
He said he was raising the dead, healing all kinds of sicknesses and giving hope to people who thought they had come to the end of the road.
The founder and leader of God’s Way International Church explained that the respect and the wealth he acquired at the tender age of 22 went to his head, a situation which brought him into the realm of the flesh.
“Can you imagine a 22-year-old boy owning four expensive cars and two houses? I thought I had reached the end of the road and therefore moved away from the spirit and thus came to the physical realm.”
According to him, immediately he developed that mindset, he started doing the things of the world including adultery; one of the sins the Bible abhors most which landed him in trouble.
He reluctantly revealed that he indeed had an affair with the woman who was married to his junior pastor for two years and that before the matter came to the public domain, he had severed ties with her for almost five years.
The bishop noted he decided to tell his wife about the affair when the other woman refused to let go of the relationship.
He told his host he had not regretted anything about that relationship because it came to teach him a valuable lesson and also renew his spirit and faith in God.
“After I came back to my senses, I went to the Lord and wept uncontrollably and with fasting and prayers I asked for forgiveness which the Lord answered positively,” he said.
