The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Richard Ahiagbah, has been released from the hospital after he was involved in an accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
On July 27, 2024, at around 1:30 am, Ahiagbah was travelling to Kumasi for a scheduled event when the tragedy happened near Aduapompo.
His car and an articulated truck had a collision.
Ahiagbah announced his release from the hospital in a social media post [X], thanking God and everyone for their prayers and support.
He expressly thanked the nurses at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the medical team headed by Drs. Charles K. Dally, Otu Boateng, Roland Azorliade, and Peter Ambe for their care and treatment.
He called his time at KATH "frightening and painful," but it was also enlightening, pointing out the shortcomings and opportunities in Ghana's healthcare system.
Ahiagbah declared that he would create the Turning Point Foundation to advance an outcome-driven, people-centred health policy system in Ghana.
I am out of the hospital today with a few more knots to untie, but I am back on my feet again.
