I’m ready to lead CPP to victory in 2012 election

Kumasi, Aug 17, GNA – Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the 2008 Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has vowed to lead the party to victory in the next year’s general election, if given the second chance by the party’s national delegates.

He said he would help provide the needed logistics to make the party’s structures at all levels functional.

Dr Nduom was speaking at a meeting with the Ashanti Regional Executives and supporters of the CPP in Kumasi on Wednesday.

He invited all “genuine” members of the party to accept to do their bit and make the necessary sacrifices to strengthen its structures, particularly at the polling stations and make the CPP more attractive to voters.

They should all work hard and with unity of purpose to win more votes for the party, he said.

Dr Nduom had earlier presented money and other gifts in support of the widow and children of the late Kwaku Baah Bonsu, the party’s 2008 Parliamentary Candidate for Asokwa, who died in October 2009.

He had also opened a savings account with an initial deposit of GH¢500.00 for the two children of the deceased to help take care of some of their education needs and pledged further assistance.

Dr Nduom rejected claims that the CPP is made up of only old men and women and said more young people were joining the party in droves.

According to him, he has over 3,000 young people connected to him on facebook who call daily to affirm their support for the party.

He said the CPP has better solutions to the problems of the country.
