The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ga West Municipality, Clement Wilkinson, has disclosed his preparedness to fix the deplorable roads in his municipality especially Pokuase-Mayera roads.
He urged residents to be calm, hence his working seriously to make sure this year the roads are being constructed to make life easier for the people living the area.
"When the roads are good, movement of goods and business becomes easy for residents, so I am pleading with my people to trust me am working on the roads as the president mentioned this year is our year of roads, we are working to make it a reality," he said.
Speaking with Kwame Tutu on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7,he stressed that, “I will make my residents happy very soon. The road is on contract. It was awarded before I came but couldn’t be done due to some issues including financial problems’’ he said.
He further explained that under the NPP administration some contracts were awarded to work on the roads, but due to one or two reasons the contractor is no were to be found, he advised the contractor by name Abdul Raman Construction as in wherever he is to come and continue from where he stops.
Tackling on other challenges in the municipality, Mr. Wilkinson stated that, Health Center, Schools, Water are some possible challenges the community is facing.
He added that President Nana Addo and the NPP government is working to fulfill all their promises made to Ghanaians.
Mr. Wilkinson, advised the general public to help Nana Addo’s vision of making Accra the cleaner’s city in the world, adding the president cannot do it alone if Ghanaians do not support him by adopting a habit of cleanliness.
