I need Ghc100, 000 now – Okyeame Kwame

Okyeame Kwame’s campaign against Hepatitis B is gradually reaching its pinnacle, a statement from his foundation reads. With five years of providing education campaign and free screening of Hepatitis B to the general Ghanaian populace, the Okyeame Kwame Foundation looks forward to activate the Hepatitis B project in a grand style this year.

He hopes to add to the usual free screening and education, free vaccination of 1000 Ghanaians on 26th July, 2014 at Mantse Abgoona in James Town, Accra and the foundation, according to the statement, is working towards achieving this.

Prior to this, there is going to be organized what is dubbed the “Celebrity Car Wash” on the 20th of July, 2014, 8 am at the Cahaya Car Spa in East Legon, opposite former president Jerry John Rawlings’ house. The Celebrity Car Wash is an initiative by Okyeame Kwame to have himself and fellow celebrities including Kwabena Kwabena, Castro, Edem, Samini, Richie Jocelyn Dumas, Mr. Beautiful, Adjetey Annan, Funny Face, Abeiku Santana, and Nana Aba Anamoah, mentioning a few, wash their fans and others’ cars as a means of raising funds to support the Hepatitis B project.

According to the statement, the Okyeame Kwame Foundation is supposed to raise One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc100,000) to cater for the screening, administration and vaccination, which are expensive.

The Okyeame Kwame Foundation together with MTN Ghana Foundation, Japan Motors, and MDS Lancet Laboratories, have been able to raise Fifty-Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc50,000) and ask for the kind support of Ghanaians:

  •  To donate Thirty Ghana Pesewas (Ghp 30) by texting: Hep B to short code 1413

  •
  • Or donate some money through MTN mobile money number 0549 931 993

  •
  • Or Okyeame Kwame Foundation GT Bank account 212104114140.

The World Health Organization rates Ghana as a high-risk country of Hepatitis B between 10 and 15 percent. The prevalent rate, according to Okyeame Kwame, is still high and this has “created the need to add vaccination so that the 85% of the people who are tested negative will not drift back to the risk zone.”
