“I didn’t expect to lose, I know I did my best.” These were the words of Nana Oye Lithur who lost her bid to contest on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the forthcoming 2020 Parliamentary elections.

The former Gender Minister lost in the Adentan constituency primaries after she polled 559 votes while Mohammed Adamu Ramadan polled 730 votes out of a total of 1290 votes cast.

Only one rejected ballot was recorded.

“I feel strengthened, I didn’t expect to lose. We covered all the tracks and carried a very strong campaign. The delegates have spoken and I congratulate Mr Ramadan. Democracy has won”. She established.

Madam Lithur added, she intends calling and congratulating her contender, Mohammed Adamu Ramadan and also throw her weight behind him, so the party can wrestle the seat from NPP’s Yaw Buabeng Asamoah.
