The Minister of Communication Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has described as ‘fake’ a reportage that suggests that she described Muslims as ‘intolerable’ following the Minister of Science and Technology Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s comments that Muslim leaders should adopt the use of WhatsApp to call their members for prayers.
Prof. Boateng said the use of WhatsApp by Muslims leaders to call their members for prayers in the various mosques will reduce the noise pollution in some parts of the country.
Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said the reportage was meant to create disaffection between her and the Muslim community.
In a statement signed by the Communications Specialist for the ministry Sandra Frimpong, it warned journalists to ‘desist from such reckless and tribalistic reports’.
