The Cape Coast Metropolitan Director for Social Welfare, Daniel Wallace Acheampong has described as misleading, statements in the media suggesting he said teenage girls in the region, demand GH¢1.00 recharge card in exchange for sex.

He explained that at no point in the said interview did he indicate that the teenage girls charge such items in exchange for sexual services.

According to him, his outfit does not have facts to make such general statements as it was only one girl who indicated that those she normally sleeps with give her GH¢1.00 in exchange for the sex.

The said Junior High School pupil, he added indicated that some of her clients at times do not even pay at all and even subject her to beatings after the sexual bouts.

Speaking in an interview with Ultimate News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour, Mr. Acheampong urged the public to disregard that aspect of the said report as it does not give a true picture of what the situation is on the ground.
