An influential member of the NDC Jospeh Yamin has said he is disappointed in the functional executives of the party for issuing a disclaimer over comments he is alleged to have made without first granting him a hearing.

The National Democratic Congress in a disclaimer dissociated itself from media reports that Mr. Yammin claims the party will never disband its vigilante groups.

“The National Democratic Congress has taken notice of several media publications attributed to a member of the party, Mr. Joseph Yamin under the headline: “NDC WILL NOT DISBAND HAWKS TODAY, TOMORROW OR EVER.”

“The Functional Executive Committee of the NDC wishes to state unequivocally that the above statement does not in any way represent the views and/or position of the party. The party wishes to reiterate its unwavering commitment to the process of disbanding all political vigilante or party militia groups in the country,” the party said.

Reacting to the disclaimer, Mr Yamin told Starr News the party should have first listened to the said recordings before taking a decision on him.

“I never made that comment. It was an interview with Pure FM, and no where in the video and the voice was that comment made.

“The party in the disclaimer is asking me to come and clarify, which means that from their point it could be true or not true. Tomorrow when I meet the national executives I’m going to put it out there and ask them to show me where in the video I made those comments.

“I should be disappointed in them. If they wanted my side of the story, they would have waited and listen to me first. And that could have influenced the tone of the disclaimer they issued,” he said.
