Deputy National Communications Director for the ruling New Patriotic Party has disclosed he was offered the top job at the National Lotteries Authority which he turned down on personal principles.

According to Yaw Adomako Baafi, he rejected the job offer based on his Christian doctrines as an Adventist.

Adomako Baafi argues, he does not see how as someone who was born and raised in the Adventist teachings and ideologies, he would be seen heading an institution that contradicts his religious beliefs.

He was speaking in an interview with host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkra in response to internal agitations by party faithfuls against what they call neglect by the party.

Adomako Baafi said, “Kwame, I was offered appointment at the National Lotteries, but I laughed it off because I don’t see how I will do that job taking into consideration my religious beliefs.”

“I am an Adventist and as Adventists, we frown against staking lotto…so how could I have gone to work there,” he asked.

“I remember as a child, I went to stake lotto, the serious slaps I received from my elder sister and mother in Aboabo instantly transformed me…so there is no way I can take up a job with the lotteries authority,” he added
