The Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Samuel Amo Tobbin, has revealed that he spends over GH¢200,000 on charity work every first Sunday of the month at church.

Speaking in a one-on-one interview with Zionfelix, Samuel Amo Tobbin explained that for the past twenty years, he had made it a point to be assisting the needy in his church every Sunday.

He, however, had to review the day because the exercise took away most of his time.

As a result, he said he scheduled the first Sunday of every month as the day he would listen to and assist the needy in his church.

According to him, on such days, he spends an average of GH¢200,000 on medical bills, paying loans and giving start-up capital for those who need it.

“Initially, I used to provide support for the needy on every Sunday of the month, and I realized I exhausted all of my time doing that, so I decided to do that on every first Sunday of the month. In the church of Pentecost, that day is the Lord’s Supper day.

“Barely, I attend to about 400 people and spend over GH¢200,000 on an average. The amount ranges from GH¢200,000, GH¢180,000, GH¢250,000 thereabout and in some cases GH¢300,000,” Samuel Amo Tobbin told Zionfelix.

The Tobinco boss also said that the amount of money does not include the money he spends on widows, and very sick persons he has on a monthly pay roll.

Answering a question on what motivates him to continue giving to the poor, Samuel Amo Tobbin stated that he believes that his consistent help to the poor contributes significantly to the growth of his business and he has been empowered by God to continue helping the needy at all times.
