Former President John Dramani Mahama has commiserated with the UK following Monday night’s terror attack in Manchester which left 22 dead and 52 injured.

“I stand in solidarity with the UK. My thoughts are with the families and victims of the Manchester terror attack,” the former President said.

The May 22 attack occurred when a man armed with an improvised bomb killed at least 22 people and injured 59 outside a concert arena filled with teenagers in central Manchester.

The attack is said to be the worst terror incident in the UK since 2005.

Police said the bomber, who died in the explosion, detonated the device shortly after the end of a concert by US pop star Ariana Grande at about 10.30pm.

The Islamic State (IS) has taken responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has also condemned the attack, describing it as “despicable and cowardly”.
