The new artist signed unto Rufftown Records Label, Wendy Shay who has been tagged as Ebony’s replacement has revealed that not only did she meet Ebony Reigns before she died, she actually considered her as her younger sister before she died.
Just a few months after being introduced by Bullet, the CEO of Rufftown Records at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards as the new signee, Wendy Shay has grown to be one of the most trending female artists in Ghana.
She has two songs, “Uber Driver and Bedroom Commander” enjoying massive airplay. Many have described her as Ebony’s replacement for several reasons but, mainly because of her choice of dressing and the lyrics of her songs (Well, Bullets wrote for both of them).
Wendy Shay who is a trained nurse in Germany Ghpage.com gathers has completely washed off the nursing career and has picked up the music as a full-time business.
Since she was introduced after Ebony died in a car accident in February 2018, many people have the belief that the two never met but Wendy Shay in an interview with Abeika Santana on his show at UTV, “Atuu” has revealed they actually met.
According to the fast-rising artist, she met Ebony Reigns at one of Ruff town concerts and they were introduced and she was happy with the warm welcome she received from her.
Wendy Shay added that she actually took Nana Hemaa (Ebony Reigns) as her younger sister and they met many times before she died. She revealed that Ebony knew she would be joining the label later.
She also revealed in the interview that she is not worried when Ghanaians compared her to Ebony Reigns because they most likely have some things in common.
