Suspended Vice Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC) Emmanuel Carl Bartels says he has been going about his official duties by taking trotro and taxis because a vehicle was never assigned him by the party.

Mr. Bartels and APC’s General Secretary Razak Opoku on Sunday went ahead of a scheduled event to declare support for New Patriotic Party’s Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the December 7 elections after the party had originally scheduled Monday, November 28 to declare support for one of the seven 2016 presidential candidates following the disqualification of Mr Ayariga.

This has since led to the suspension of the two executives by the founder and leader of the party Dr. Hassan Ayariga, who cited indiscipline and gross disrespect to the National Executive committee as reasons for their suspension.

Speaking exclusively on Onua FM’s Yen Nsem Pa hosted by Bright Kwesi Asempa, Mr. Bartels described Dr. Hassan Ayariga as the meanest person he has ever met.

“I told him I didn’t have a car because my car has been parked in the garage for a while and he has cars parked all over the place and the general secretary has a lot of things doing and once in a while I jokingly come to tell you I need a car”.

GH¢ 20 for fuel

According to him, he had on several occasions complained to Mr. Ayariga about the vehicle arrangements within the party because only one vehicle was assigned to him and the general secretary who lived very far from him.

Mr. Bartels also mentioned that Dr. Ayariga gives them GH¢20 a day for fuel for official duties.

“Sometimes the General Secretary is asked to attend to other matters for him (Ayariga) to take up other duties when he knows I’m supposed to be picked up in the mornings and he expects his vice presidential candidate to hop into trotro which I do and do and I see it as a height of meanness .

“He is very disrespectful to my person and not forthcoming when you talk to him about things that affect the generality of the party members and takes your word for granted when you give him advice as to how to run party affairs.”
