General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has flatly denied sending a delegation to his closest contender and Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho, to beg him and impress upon him to step down from the contest.

Reacting to a publication by Rainbowradioonline.com, the chief scribe who confessed being angry over the story denied sending a delegation to Koku Anyidodho.

According to him, he has done no such thing and blamed some faceless individuals for orchestrating such acts.

He also reiterated that he has never on any occasion whispered to Koku Anyidoho that, he would no longer contest the race. Mr Nketiah told sit-in-host Kwabena Agyapong he had never contested the position as an unopposed candidate.

He also revealed to the host Koku Anyidoho recently led a group of NDC elders to come to his official residence to apologise for claiming that he [Koku] received blessings from him [Nketiah] to contest because he was no longer interested. He made reference to Dr Carl Mark, Mr Kofi Attoh and five others saying, ‘’these individuals came to me and apologise.’’

He further revealed that, he gave Mr Anyidoho an option to be his Deputy General Secretary or can go ahead and contest me and he has decided to contest me. But I am not bothered about that.

‘’They started with a story of me blessing Koku but after I denied it, they changed the narrative and now engaging in this new way of fabricating lies’’ he added.
