Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ajumako -Enyan- Essiam, Cassiel Ato Forson has urged his competitors in the upcoming December 7 Parliamentary election, to jettison any thoughts of wrestling the seat from him as he has ‘captured’ it for the next twelve years.

According to him, he has a firm grip on the constituency and will only relinquish the seat after occupying it for twenty years uninterrupted.

The Deputy Minister, a Chartered Accountant by profession, in the 2008 election polled 24,752 votes out of the 46,997 valid votes cast.

In 2012 election, Hon. Ato Forson, got 24,752 votes out of the 46,997 valid votes cast representing 52.67%, beating his closest contender, Festus Beedu-Turkson of the NPP, who polled 21, 462 representing 45.67%.

Addressing NDC supporters at Enyan Abaasa, Hon. Ato Forson said his aim is to ensure appreciable level of development in the area and also improve the living condition of the constituents.

“I’m occupying this seat for twenty years and after that I go on retirement. With the kind of work I’ve done and will continue to do in this constituency, by the end of my period representing you as the MP, Ajumako -Enyan- Essiam will become developed like London, one that we can all be proud of. I’m confident that the level of my work here that is evident for all to
see will guarantee me more years in Parliament.”
