The Head Pastor of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) who was also the Chairman of collapsed Capital Bank has disclosed that he was not in a right frame of mind for a sermon on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

According to the influential Man of God, he couldn’t think straight to put his thoughts together as has always been the case.

He described the takeover by the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) as a ‘terrible week’ for him.

Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, he said “Monday was a fortunately good day for me. I was fine on Monday. Tuesday was a very bad day for me. Wednesday was a very terrible day. You go through this stuff and you wonder; wow, what a week!

“…This Tuesday, I was not in a frame of mind for a sermon. This was not sermon Tuesday. Wednesday definitely wasn’t a sermon Wednesday. But on Thursday, I got up, I picked my laptop, I opened it and Thursday, I put my ideas down like I normally do and all of a sudden, I just felt like a cloud just left my shoulders’.

Some customers of the two banks Capital and UT banks have been threatening to withdraw their investments from GCB.

There is also heightened tension amongst staff of the two banks as to whether they will be retained or not.

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) announced the takeover following ‘impairment of their capital’ last week.
