Media General’s broadcast journalist and social media activist Kwakye Afreh-Nuamah has disclosed that prior to the consecutive death threats through phone calls by some staunch NPP supporters, he was cautioned by the Sanitation Ministry due to criticisms he had earlier directed towards the latter.

“… before this threat came up I had received calls from some officials of the Sanitation Ministry asking me to tone down on my language, to actually stop criticizing the Sanitation Minister”, Afreh-Nuamah noted.

The competence of Kofi Adda has been a subject of public debate, particularly in the last three months, with questions about why many parts of the country remain in filth despite the existence of his ministry.

Especially because President Akufo-Addo has promised to improve the country’s sanitation and make the capital the cleanest city on the continent.

Many social media users who believe the Navrongo Member of Parliament’s performance has been under par have called for him to be axed.

Mr. Adda recently described his critics as "ill-informed," indicating that his ministry is not primarily responsible for refuse collection.

Recalling an earlier interview with the minister, the TV3 journalist indicated that Mr. Adda was of the view that the former had a grand scheme to get him ousted from his post.

“…in fact on one occasion last year when I met the sanitation minister and I interviewed him, he suggested that I had a certain grand agenda against him to get him out of office”, Afreh-Nuamah stated

Two NPP enthusiasts namely Boya and Hajia Fati earlier called Kwakye Afreh-Nuamah to threaten him via telephone because he had constantly criticized Sanitation Minister, Kofi Adda for not delivering on his mandate on social media.

A formal complaint has been lodged by the journalist to the Police.
