The Flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Agbenu Akpaloo, has stated that his party will garner more votes in the Volta Region than the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Akpaloo, the NDC has lost its dominance in the Volta Region.
"NDC has no stronghold in the Volta Region anymore. Oh yes, I can tell you I will beat the NDC in the Volta Region," he said.
Kofi Akpaloo made this statement during an interview on GhanaWeb TV’s Election Desk with Mawuli Ahorlumegah.
He further expressed confidence in his party’s growing influence in the Volta Region, traditionally considered the stronghold of the NDC.
"Over there, you would have noticed that the turnout was fantastic. People didn't believe that LPG would draw such a large crowd for an event of that nature in Ho, because they think it’s an NDC stronghold," he said.
Kofi Akpaloo, a native of the Volta Region, believes that his victory over the NDC in the Volta Region during the pending elections, will stem from the fact that he is the only presidential candidate who hails from the area, and is number five on the ballot paper, which he associates with the region.
"Because I’m the only Voltarian in this election, and number five. And number five is V-O-L-T-A, Volta; the first Voltarian to be there," he stated.
His confidence in victory over the NDC in the Volta Region is a result of his party’s manifesto launch held in the Volta Region, which, according to him, saw a massive turnout.
