"I will change and transform the face of Nima" - East-Ayawaso MP

Mr Naser Mahama Toure, Member of Parliament (MP) for East-Ayawaso says his vision is to change and transform the face of Nima and other areas in the constituency to befit its status as the heart beat of Accra. Outlining his programmes for the constituency in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra at the weekend, Mr Toure expressed worry about the poor sanitation in the constituency and promised to tackle it as a major problem of the constituency.

“I would mobilize resources to widen drains, cover open drains and use concrete slabs to cover some of the spaces separating houses and increase the education of good hygiene and public health.”

He noted that the constituency was lacking refuse containers thus compelling residents to dispose of garbage indiscriminately, adding “I would provide refuse containers and procure refuse tricycles for all wards in the constituency which would also create jobs for the youth in the area."

Touching on education, Mr Toure said more classrooms were needed in the constituency and that he would continue with the educational projects that was initiated by the MP for North-Ayawaso, Dr Mustapha Ahmed to promote good atmosphere for teaching and learning.

He noted that students in the constituency needed a lot of support to further their studies in the Junior, Senior and tertiary institutions and that he would create an endowment fund to offer scholarships to needy but brilliant students.

Mr Toure also acknowledged that the creation of jobs for the youth was one of his major concerns and promise to take a serious look into that.

He appealed to opinion leaders, chiefs, religious leaders and political leaders in the constituency to commit themselves and support the transformation of the constituency.
