I will dialogue with my opponents- Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to meet executives of opposition parties at least twice annually, to address issues of national importance.

The first meeting, according to the president, would take place next month at the seat of government, Castle.

President Mahama made the revelation when he addressed a breakfast meeting in Accra on Tuesday, to roll-out his policies for the next three months.

He affirmed that such encounters would offer the platform for politicians across the divide to jaw-jaw on pressing matters, which would help deepen the country's nascent democracy; and stressed that there must be a paradigm shift from the winner takes all syndrome.

“...I lead the government and the nation, inclusive governance must address the moderation and reform of the winner takes all system of Ghanaian government. And after the first meeting, I hope to continue and at least meet political party leaders two times annually”, he added.

Ghana prepares for presidential and parliamentary election in December with election observers predicting a run-off between the candidate of the largest opposition NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, and President Mahama of the NDC.
