Private legal practitioner and member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Amaliba has vowed to do whatever it takes to ensure that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo fails as President and subsequently rejected by the electorates in the next elections.
He told NEAT FM’s morning show host Kwesi Aboagye that, he will do that as 'payback' to what former Attorney General Martin Amidu did to former President John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, Martin Amidu had no intention of retrieving the GHC 51million paid to Alfred Woyome - instead, his intention was to see John Dramani Mahama out of office “And he achieved that.”
“I have no problem with that. As I am speaking to you now, I want President Nana Addo out. So anything I can do legitimately to achieve that, I will do that just as Martin Amidu did to President Mahama,” he said.
Adding that “I have no faith in Nana Addo, he can’t work.”
Lawyer Amaliba was responding to the withdrawal by Martin Amidu at the Supreme Court to orally examine Alfred Woyome on the GHC 51million paid him.
The anti-corruption campaigner, who had filed a case in the Supreme Court seeking permission to interrogate the embattled businessman, told the court Wednesday that he was no longer interested in the case.
He explained he believes the Akufo-Addo-led administration will retrieve the state money which was wrongfully paid to Woyome in a judgement debt.
