Madam Akusika Mawuhi Akpene-Ansah, Agotime-Ziope National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Aspirant on Sunday stated her resolve to facelift Agotime-Ziope and reposition the District as the most beautiful in the Volta region using its eco-tourism potentials.
She said she would also construct a “24/7 wholesale” market to promote the area as the place where the best tomatoes and “kente” cloth are produced.
Madam Akpene-Ansah said this when she officially launched her campaign ahead of the Saturday, November 21 constituency primaries.
She described herself as the “most appealing” candidate to attract “floating” voters and the only candidate committed to transforming the fortunes of the District.
“I won’t disappoint Agotime-Ziope. I need the opportunity to bring change to the area and the time is now,” Madam Akpene-Ansah asserted.
She promised to put up kindergartens in all communities in the District when given the nod, and procure four tractors for farmer groups.
The aspirant also announced full scholarship packages for brilliant but needy students in the District.
She would also facilitate the training of young people in the district to make sandals, handbags and earrings using “kente” towards solving youth unemployment.
Mr Kobby Fiagbe, a Member of the Government Communication Team, said government needed women in Parliament to work with, and urged the delegates to vote for Madam Akpene-Ansah.
He described her as experienced, “well connected” and the most capable to represent the Constituency in Parliament.
