Economist and Chief Executive Officer of Public Sector Reforms Thomas Kusi Boafo has vowed to campaign against President Akufo-Addo if he fails to prosecute corrupt officials under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress(NDC) administration.

He said the level of thievery that the country witnessed during the immediate past NDC regime was unprecedented and gargantuan warning that if those involved in such criminal acts are not punished it will embolden incumbent appointees to do same.

He said he once met with the President and told him in plain language that if he does not jail corrupt former appointees he will campaign against him.

“I have told President Akufo-Addo point blank due to what I have seen with my naked eyes that if people are not jailed for looting from the state I will campaign against him,” he stated.

He also threatened to tear into pieces his academic certificates and apparently secure criminal certificate which enable him also to steal if nothing is done against those involved in corruption scandals.

Speaking during a discussion on the Special Prosecutor Bill, which the President assented to on Tuesday January 3, 2017, Mr Kusi Boafo lashed out at members of the opposition NDC for vilifying the creation of the Office of the Special Prosecutor by saying that the rationale behind it, is to witch hunt former government appointees.

He described those with such views as unwise people.

Mr Kusi Boafo who spoke in an angry tone alleged that many rich people in the country acquired their wealth through what he described as corrupt practices.

He could not fathom why some Ghanaians still wants people who have engaged in corrupt acts to enriched themselves to the extent of buying properties in Middle East and other places go unpunished.

He warned that Ghana will collapse if the current administration fails to punish wrong doers.

“If we don’t punish wrong doers we will destroy this nation,” he cautioned.
