Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that one key thing he will refrain from when given a second chance as flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress is making empty promises, lies, populism and grand deception for political power.

He added that even though Ghanaians may not agree with everything he proposes or says, he will rather call a spade a spade than lie.

“Let me be clear, I myself do not claim perfection, while we remain proud of our record in government and the work we were able to do, we would be the first to admit that there were difficulties with some policies, though well intentioned, were perhaps misunderstood and could have been implemented differently in order to get better and different outcomes”

“We have learnt our lessons and we promise Ghanaians we would do even better. But, I will not engage in empty promises, sloganeering, populism, convenient lies and grand deception to win political power I will not that”

“I may not say what Ghanaians want to hear but I will always speak the truth. Every government faces challenges and the best way to deal with it is to be honest and truthful to the citizen of the country”, he added.

Speaking at Trade Fair after the submission of his nomination form to contest as the flagbearer of the NDC come 2020, the Former President, John Dramani Mahama, added that he would give young Ghanaians hope by creating job opportunities and reducing high standards of living.

“When my party chooses me in the upcoming flagbearer elections the road towards Ghana will gather fresh momentum, there might be no instant victories but we will give our youth hope by making their needs for job and opportunities to market their skills our number one priority”.

“Upon the conclusion of our presidential primaries, we will emerge victorious we will quickly get together and develop a credible and pragmatic program to ease the hardship and create job for the young ones” he said.
