Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has assured Ghanaians that he would not lie to them or make promises he cannot fulfill, even as he campaigns for votes ahead of the December 7 polls.
Speaking at the campaign launch of the NDC in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, 2024, Mr. Mahama noted that although things were not rosy under his presidency, Ghana was making progress.
“I’ve been out of government for eight years now. I did my best; I wouldn’t say things were perfect, but at least we were making progress. What I can promise you is that I will be truthful to you, I will never tell you lies, I will never tell you things I cannot do,” Mr. Mahama told a mammoth crowd of NDC supporters.
He noted that the problem with this country is that policies are based on the short cycles of winning elections every four years, and “we are not creating the foundation for this economy to take off.”
He promised to work hard day and night to reset the fortunes of the country if he is reelected President.
Mr. Mahama disclosed that his intention is to ameliorate what has been done by the Akufo-Addo government and reset the country for future generations.
