Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase is threatening to unleash a counter task force if the Ashanti regional police service fails to arrest members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for invading public offices by Sunday.

‘Arrest all new patriotic party members taking over government property and chasing away public servants or see lawlessness in Asawase,’ that is the spirited threat of irate members of the National Democratic Congress in their strong hold Asawase led by their member of parliament Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed.

The group of supporters today met at the Asawase Community Centre to outline a number of invasions and brutalities meted out to their members by purported members of the New Patriotic Party who go round in two with unregistered pickup trucks.

According to Muntaka Mohammed, the thugs led by one Ali Suraad have so far invaded the offices of the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority, the Asokore Municipal Assembly and the Kumasi Airport demanding that they take over those assets which are all located in the Asawase constituency.

Speaking to Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote – Fumador he indicated that he will form his own vigilante group to match the thugs boot for boot if the police fails to arrest the situation by Sunday.

‘Its a very worrying situation, you saw how peaceful the whole transition has been, all of a sudden there is this hooliganism and vandalism. Can you imagine the thugs led by that stupid boy, they have gone to the DVLA, airport, assembly office asking them to hand over government properties to them. As if we are in a jungle or in coup’detat, their thugs are using unlicensed vehicle harassing people,’ he fumed.

Meanwhile the immediate past municipal chief executive officer of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly whose office was visited by this gang led by Ali Suraad regrets that the police has failed to protect the interest of the state and the NDC after the party resolved to dissolve all its vigilante groups ahead of the elections.

‘I have been finding out who this Ali Suraad is. He is apparently a security coordinator for the Invisible forces. The NDC has gone to his house several times but have not met him on all occasions. The NDC believes he is lodging in one Noble Hotel in Ahodwo. His friend whom I spoke to tells me he left for Accra on Saturday. But his pictures have been circulated for his arrest,’ he fumed.
