The member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, has promised the people of Kwahu Abetifi, a town situated in the Eastern Region of Ghana that, he will turn the place into a tourist centre, as an affordable option for Ghanaians who travel to Dubai, France, London and other parts of the world for recreational purposes.
Bryan Acheampong said this during the three-day annual BLISS ON HILLS Concert held on the Chiefs Palace Street, during the just ended Christmas celebrations.
The MP opined that, such a move to turn Kwahu Abetifi into a tourist centre will create jobs for the inhabitants of the area as well as provide an alternative to Ghanaians and foreigners to organise parties, conferences, and other social activities such as honeymoon in the area.
The BLISS ON HILLS concert treated over thirty thousand patrons who thronged the concert grounds in front of the Chief's Palace street to a three-day show on the 24th-26th December 2017, which had each day, dedicated to a different genre of music. The genres included, Highlife, Gospel and Afro beat/ Reggae Dancehall .
In all, thirty Ghanaian musicians including Nana Ampedu, Ambolley, Bessa Simons, Shattawale, Stoneboy, Ebony Reigns, Gifty Osei, S.P. Kofi Sarpong, and Ernest Opoku amongst other stars performed at the concert.
According to the event organiser, Kwesi Ernest, the concert gave the inhabitants of the area quality entertainment during the Christmas holidays and assured the inhabitants of a repetition of the BLISS ON HILLS concert every Christmas season.
The event was organised by Media Excell , alongside Evolution and financed by the Member of Parliament for the Abetifi Kwahu constituency Bryan Acheampong.
