The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that he will not allow his appointees to collapse his government by engaging in corruption.

According to him, he will do everything within his power to protect the interests of Ghanaians.

He warned that appointees who are bent on stealing from the State coffers will be punished accordingly, warning officials with personal agenda different from that of his government’s vision to rethink.

Speaking during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Delegates’ Conference in Cape Coast of the Central Region, the President warned that, government officials involved in corruption will not get away with it.

He charged people who make allegations against government officials to be prepared to support the security forces in their investigations.

According to him, too much efforts and sacrifices have gone into bringing them in power and will not toy with that opportunity.

‘Let me reassure you of one thing, every allegation of corruption against any official member of this my government will be investigated by the law enforcement agencies, every single one… Nobody will get away with it. I am not going to preside over a government with corruption, if I don’t know it, I can’t do nothing about it, but knowingly, we need to deal about corruption. I have given instructions to the law enforcement agencies to investigate each official of my government accused of corruption.

‘…We need to recognise that we are all in the same boat, we are rolling to the same destination about the upliftment and freedom of Ghana…anybody who wants to rock that boat and capsize it, for the time being, I am the captain of the boat, I am not going to allow anybody capsize our boat, too many efforts, sweats, and sacrifices have gone into bringing us where we are today, to allow anybody capsize it, ‘ he warned.

The President said the setting up of the Special Prosecutor will definitely come on despite setbacks from detractors.

He called on the party members to exhibit a high sense of humility towards Ghanaians who voted them in power.

He reiterated his readiness to deliver on his government’s promise.
