The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, says he will ensure to bring each and every member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) onboard to form a formidable and a united party to wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) when elected flagbearer of the umbrella family.

“I will not be a flagbearer of a divided NDC, no. I want to lead a formidable, united and loving NDC”, he noted.

Hon. Bagbin who is aspiring for the flagbearer position of the NDC made this observation, Sunday, September 23, 2018, when interacting with some constituency executives, members of the 31st December Women’s Movement and the Elders of the NDC in Prestea.

The executives had been drawn from six constituencies namely Amenfi West, Tarkwa Nsuem, Amenfi Central, Amenfi East, Aowin and Prestea Huni-Valley constituency.

He said it pains his heart to see elders and cadres of the umbrella family who have through out their lives fought for the survival of the party in sorry state.

The situation, according to the Nadowli/Kaleo lawmaker, must change, urging all the delegates to be ambassadors of a united NDC by visiting the elders and cadres of the party, who for some reasons, have distanced themselves from the party’s activities.

“Have you in recent times been hearing all the names that you used to hear? No. But all those people are there. They are in our constituencies. They are watching us. So, please from here visit them, talk to them, show them love and let them know that we are a united family. With this we will be reviving the party and I am sure victory will be ours in the 2020 general elections”, he noted.
