President of the Senior Staff Association of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Charles Offei Palm has stated that he would not be intimidated by attempts of the Hospital’s CEO Dr. Gilbert Buckle to gag him.
“In this modern day Ghana, in this modern day world, you don’t hide your failures through victimisation...a leader, who is born to victimise people because we criticise him is a failure, and I will not be intimidated by that,” Mr. Offei-Palm said.
Mr. Palm, who has publicly accused the management of running down the facility, has been asked to step aside following a radio interview he had.
In the said interview, Mr. Palm reportedly accused the board and CEO of the hospital of mismanaging their finances, leading to a shortage of drugs and other essentials.
He has served notice to sue the management of the Hospital after he was interdicted on Tuesday.
Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Class FM, Mr. Ofei Palm said attempts to prevent him from exposing the rot at Ghana’s biggest referral unit would fail.
“Korle-Bu will not collapse because of the failures of the current management led by Dr Gilbert Buckle. If Dr Gilbert Buckle thinks he has written a letter to me to shut me up, then I can only tell him that he is wrong because those things do not intimidate me, I have grown past that age of intimidation.
“I will seek for my rights and the rights of staff of Korle-Bu...so many lawyers have called me [offering] to defend me [in court].”
