The Director-General of the Criminal investigations Department, (CID) COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has stated she will gladly accept the position of Inspector General of police if the president appoints her to fill the position.
The current IGP, David Asante Apeatu is set to retire soon and several names have popped up for his replacement. The names mentioned include COP Kofi Boakye, Director-General of the Police Professional Standards Bureau, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, and Director-General of Welfare of the Ghana Police Service, COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare,
However, speaking on The Big Story on Atinka TV Saturday, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo, said she was qualified for the job but quickly added that it is the prerogative of the president to appoint the IGP.
According to Madam Addo-Danquah, she is ready to serve if she is appointed the IGP and that the Police Service has a team of committed members who are always willing to support their leader to achieve results
