ICGC supports Akufful-Krodua community

Accra, June 28, GNA - Central Aid, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has handed over a refurbished three-classroom block to Akufful-Krodua Community, near Bawjiase in the Central Region.

Central Aid, a human development-oriented NGO of the International Central Gospel Church, renovated the school structure of the Akufful-Krodua Catholic Junior Secondary School in fulfilment of a promise made to the opinion leaders in response to a request for aid to complete the construction of the school structure.

A statement signed by Queronica Ahene-Amanquanor, Executive Coordinator, said the support was to prevent the children in the community from travelling long distances, create a better environment for teaching and learning and enhance availability of teachers.

It said the support of 64 million cedis also comprised a donation of a bicycle to the headmaster, payment of rent for some teachers and examination fees for a year for all students, and an excursion by the students and the school management team to some places of interest in Accra.

Others are 200 textbooks and general reading books for the students and the community library.

The assistance, the statement said, was in line with the mission of Central Aid to harness human creative potentials for development and also an expansion to the traditional scholarship programme of the organization.
