Vice presidential candidates of the four political parties with representation in Parliament battled it out on Tuesday evening in a contest of ideas on the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) debate platform at the Akroma Plaza Hotel in Takoradi.
The debate began with Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Cherita Sarpong-Kumankuma of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Helen Sanorita Dzatugbe Matervi of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) introducing themselves before moving into the specific areas of the political management.
The debate, lasting four hours, and moderated by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Shamima Muslim, saw the candidates answering questions which were submitted by the public on the economy, good governance, social sector, private sector development and natural resource management.
Some say the debate was not as lively as that of the Presidential candidates held in Tamale. Do you concur, and which of the four running mates in your estimation excelled and can be a potential flagbearer?
