In the wake of reported cases of serial killings and abductions across Ghana, the PeaceSeekers International calls for the outright dismissals of the Inspector General of the Ghana Police Service, David Asante Apietu and the National Security Minister, Albert Kandapah.

According to the organization's national Coordinator, Alhaji Abubakari Daa-Naa, the two security Chiefs do not deserve to be in office following the recent human security threats.

As a former National Security Operative during the erstwhile John Agyekum Kufuor's regime, Alhaji Abubakari Daa-Naa in an interview maintained that the IGP and Albert Kandapah have outlived their usefulness and must be replaced.

He said majority of Ghanaians now feel insecure because of the recent happenings.

He raised an alarm that the ISIS and other related deadly forces could take advantage and plunge the nation into chaos if pragmatic steps are not taken to curtail the situation.

He called for depoliticization of security matters and also proposed the establishment of Community Watchdog teams by the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to assist the police in their night patrols.

In a related development, Alhaji Abubakari Daa-Naa commended the people of Dagbang for their peaceful coexistence before, during and after the performance of funeral services of the late two Yaa-Naa's which resulted in the enskinment of Alhaji Abukari Mahama II as the new King.

He equally thanked the three Eminent Kings Mediation Committee, government and all other stakeholders whose hardworking spirit resolved the age-long chieftaincy matters in the Dagbang Traditional Area.

Alhaji Abubakari Daa-Naa on April 10, 2017, admonished government to consider the nefarious activities of Kumasi-based pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) Delta Force vigilante group, as a national security threat, and quickly act to avert its re-occurrence.

The pro-NPP vigilante group raided a Circuit Court where they freed some of their members who were standing trial.

Alhaji Abubakari Daa-Naa in an interview then condemned the group’s action and emphasized the need for the law enforcement agencies to be extra vigilante.

He noted that Ghana had come of age in her democratic dispensation and appealed to all and sundry to co-exist in the spirit of national reconciliation.

As a Civil Society Organisation, the Peace Seekers International has been at the forefront of peace advocacy and other security-related matters especially in the Northern Region where there are recurrent chieftaincy, land and political disturbances.
