The Greater Accra Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has on the orders of the Inspector General of Police taken over the case of the setup and assault of Pastor Emmanuel Appiah, the visiting pastor at the Glorious Wave Church International, founded by Badu Kobi, MyNewsGh.com has learnt.

The Regional CID takes over the case from the Tesano Police station where the first case was filed.

In a related development, the lady at the center of the fiasco has broken down and admitted she was promised a reward if she is able to set up the young pastor for the assault to take place, but begged the police that she could not identify and locate all the five men, three of whom were macho men they recruited for the assault.

She told the police she is not married and has never been married before, pleading for clemency, admitting that it was rather Pastor Appiah who was trying to set her up with a “US burger”.

She denied ever saying anywhere that she was married, expressing shock about where that angle came from.

Deborah, as she is called, said the other lady in the set-up video who is alleged to be a church member of Rev. Owusu Bempah is the one who recruited the 5 macho men from the area but that she (Deborah) could not lead the police to their hideout as she doesn’t know them.

It was the same lady (Owusu Bempah Church member) who videoed the entire episode and ordered the men to strip Pastor Appiah when he was resistant and threatened to call the police.

It is believed that a series of set-ups and attacks have been orchestrated against Pastors aligned with Prophet Badu Kobi’s Glorious Wave Chapel International ostensibly to damage his Church’s reputation as part of what police Investigators say is “pastoral rivalry”.

The said lady who led the attack and videos it for social media has also been declared wanted. She has in her possession the phone of Pastor Appiah which she ordered seized when he attempted to place calls for help during his attack.

Pastor Appiah, a visiting pastor of and “spiritual son” of Prophet Badu Kobi was set-up last week and videoed caught on tape being assaulted by some men for allegedly having a sexual encounter with a married woman.

The lady has said she is not, and has never been married.

Emmanuel Appiah explains the moment the setup tape went viral, was very difficult for him and his family particularly his pregnant wife.

The spiritual son of Badu Kobi revealed that he contemplated taking his life as he couldn’t imagine people watching him under such condition in the video.

The pastor noted that after the incident at the lady’s house that was taped, and subsequently receiving medical attention and reporting to the police, he got back home to confess all that had happened to his wife.

This he said wasn’t enough as a colleague pastor who had already gotten wind of the video, ordered his wife to forward it to my wife to have a look at it.

“After watching the video and seeing what transpired and how I was treated in the video, I made up my mind to commit suicide.” he cried.
