IGP urged to post more police personnel to Kasoa

Kasoa, Oct 29, GNA- An Appeal has been made to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to post more Police Personnel to Kasoa to curb the spate of armed robberies, harassment and other crimes in the area. Mr Osei Kofi, Chairman of the Fawo ho bo Yesu Group at Kasoa made the appeal when he addressed members of the Group at Kasoa in the Awutu-Erffutu-Senya District

He said Kasoa, which is one of the fastest growing urban areas in the country need more police personnel to control the activities of the criminals.

Mr Osei Kofi said the robbers have taken advantage of the small number of police men in the area to operate both day and night and snatching bags, mobile phones and other valuable items and even sometimes at gun points.

The Chairman said beefing up security at Kasoa would encourage traders as well as businessmen and women to investment in the area to create jobs and wealth for the unemployed youth in the area. He appealed to the communities to reactivate their defunct neighbourhood watchdog committees to support the day and night patrols of the police to protect life and property. On sanitation, the Chairman said the District Assembly cannot shoulder the collection of the refuse at Kasoa alone and appealed to groups and organizations in the area to help tackle the problem.
